Picture it – Getting married on a tropical island, right on the beach, or overlooking the rolling hills of northern Spain sounds absolutely magical doesn’t it? Destination weddings have such an enchanting and romantic feel; a special place you can always go back to visit with your husband or wife. But you might be worrying about the long-distance obstacles. Can we afford it? Willing the planning be too difficult?
A little bit closer to home, Phoenix has been a long-time, favorite city for people looking to escape the cold in the winter months, so it’s no surprise that our city is home to many “destination” weddings. We at Warehouse 215 have worked with many out-of-state couples during their planning process, and are familiar with the ins and outs of doing so. Take a look at a couple things to consider if Phoenix is on your list of wedding destination.
The cost of living in Phoenix is significantly cheaper than a lot of the other destination wedding hotspots. Couples will have the opportunity to afford their dream wedding without breaking the bank. Concerned about the price of a venue during peak season? Don’t worry! Here at Warehouse 215, we do not have seasonal pricing, mostly due to our indoor venue.
Phoenix is the Valley of the Sun! Pretty much says it all. The warm climate, palm trees and majestic mountains set the scene for a magical day. With March being among the more popular months to get married, the beautiful spring weather is perfect for either indoor or outdoor weddings. The two main spaces at Warehouse 215 are indoors, but we also have a lovely patio surrounded by lush foliage and sparkling bistro lights. The patio is large enough to host a ceremony for up to 90 guests. You can enjoy the best of both worlds!
- Communication through e-mail or phone
Some couples might worry about planning a wedding out-of-state due to the fact that they won’t be able to drop by and meet with their vendors as easily. Once the vendors are booked, most (if not all) negotiations and planning are carried out through email and telephone. In all honesty, most of our couples visit anywhere from 2-5 times before the wedding for planning purposes. You will really only need to plan a visit to see the space and book (you can even send in your signed contract), to finalize arrangements and for your rehearsal. There aren’t as many roadblocks as you might think! We also record virtual tours via Facebook Live every Wednesday at 6:30pm MST if you want to see our space before making the trip out here!
In the end, your wedding day is all about you and your fiancée and what you both want. If you are set on a specific location but are worried about the long-distance logistics, just take some time and do your research. You will remember your wedding day for years to come, so make sure it’s exactly what you want!
